The 2010 Golf Classic was a wonderful time of fellowship and fun. The number of teams, the number of sponsors and the amount of money raised exceeded our goals. The cross section of people that participated in the event showed clearly the impact that Charlie had on people's lives.

There was a large contingent of Thomas Dale High School alumni and Chester residents who have known Charlie since our school days. Ironbridge Baptist Church, where Charlie served as a Deacon, was well represented and very supportive.

There were several Real Estate companies involved in the event, as well as many other representatives from the business community. The success of this event is due to this wide range of people that contributed of their time, money, and love. The tremendous support for the event is a testimony to the life that Charlie lived, and the man that Charlie was. Those of us left behind miss him, but Charlie has gone on to his reward.

The 5th Annual Charlie Fletcher Golf Classic will be held on October 7, 2011, at the Cardinal Golf Course on Fort Lee Military Base. Once again we will use a 4-person team Captain's Choice format. At least one (1) tee shot of each team member must be used on each 9 holes. The field will be flighted based on final scores, and trophies will be presented to the 1st and 2nd place teams in each flight. There will also be plaques awarded to to the winners of the Closest to the Pin, Long Drive, and Putting Contests.

Your registration fee includes free range balls, 18 holes of golf, all beverages, and dinner after the event served by Brock's Barbecue. During and after dinner there will be a raffle drawing, with many wonderful prizes available. Again this year the Grand Prize will be a 3-day, 2-night stay at Nags Head. There will also be a gas grill and weed-eater given away, and many golfing related prizes will be handed out to some lucky participants.
